Class Descriptions
IN THE MAIN CLASSROOM
Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts
This class covers all of the ranges
needed for fighting and the training can be applied to either
self-defense or competition fighting. There is sparring after class for
those people wanting to train further.
Dance Fusion
Dance your heart out and get your heart rate up! We'll jump into styles like
swing, salsa, African, modern, hip hop and Middle Eastern. Simple, easy to
learn steps, slow stretching and fun-filled dance will leave you feeling
revitalized and invigorated. (Trial 10/14~1/27)
Karate
Traditional Okinawan GoJu Ryu
Karate ("Hard/Soft system") Taught in its original form. Beginners are
welcome at any time.
Spinning
Forty-five minutes of group cycling with jumps,
hill climbs, sprints and steady tours. Rewarding for anyone who can cycle at
their own pace for 30 minutes.
Sport & Fitness Conditioning
A strength,
balance and cardio mix for athletes and those seeking an athletic body. For
intermediate and advanced exercisers.
Step Aerobics
An energizing
step workout with simple movements to maximize toning, shaping, and fat
burning. For moderate to advanced fitness levels. 1 hour.
Strength Training I
Straightforward and moderately paced hand weight exercises and
stretches, with no fancy steps or moves. Perfect for beginners, seniors, and
moderate exercisers. 45 minutes.
Strength Training II
A moderate pace with more emphasis on balance and more challenging
activities. Super for seniors and everyone at moderate to advanced fitness
levels.
Body
Pump (Strength Training III)

A high intensity, one hour workout using light barbells and lots of
repetition. Designed to build lean muscle mass and muscle endurance, not
recommended for the deconditioned or beginner.
BODY-MIND CLASSES
Gentle Yoga
This class provides breathing and gentle stretching to calm both mind and
body. All levels are welcome.
Flow Yoga
Continuous, energetic, and flowing movement. Gain strength and relaxation.
Fitness Yoga
An Americanized version of high-energy yoga, great for muscle development.
Pilates
For rock-hard abs and longer, leaner body lines, Pilates is terrific for
core strength, balance and strength without bulk.
Gentle Pilates
Moderately paced, easy-to-do exercises for core fitness and longer,
leaner body lines. Excellent for beginners and those with limited abilities.
